The Energy Commission has announced the appointment of Ms. Adwoa Serwaa Bondzie as the Acting Executive Secretary, effective immediately. She succeeds Ing. Mrs. Eunice Biritwum, who has stepped down from the position.
Ms. Bondzie is a seasoned executive leader with over 15 years of experience in business development, energy transition, and strategic management. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a unique ability to bridge technical expertise with commercial strategy, enhancing operational efficiency, profitability, and long-term value creation.
A Proven Track Record of Excellence
Ms. Bondzie’s impressive track record includes her tenure at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), where she pioneered the establishment of the company’s first trading desk. She designed and implemented a fuel-trading system that generated over USD 20 million in profit within two years, setting a benchmark for operational excellence.
Additionally, Ms. Bondzie led the expansion of Ghana’s strategic petroleum reserves from 4 weeks to 12 weeks between 2014 and 2016, significantly strengthening national energy security. Her outstanding leadership and dedication earned her the BOST Leadership & Dedication Award in 2015.
Academic Background and Professional Experience
Ms. Bondzie holds a Master of Science in Public Policy from the University of Bath, an MBA in International Business and Strategy from Henley Business School, a Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology from GIMPA, and a Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Algonquin College. Her strong academic background complements her extensive practical leadership experience.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Bondzie managed multi-million-dollar engineering projects at TechInsights Canada, delivering high-quality outcomes for international clients within stipulated timelines and budgets.
