The Ghana Climate Centre of Excellence today presented its flagship initiative, The Great Green Wall of Ghana, to the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament and Members of Parliament, receiving strong support for the project’s vision and national significance.
More than a tree-planting campaign, the Great Green Wall of Ghana is a climate-resilient economic development initiative designed to restore degraded landscapes while creating sustainable livelihoods, expanding agricultural productivity, and unlocking opportunities through carbon finance. Each tree planted is intended to serve as both an environmental and economic asset.

The initiative addresses several of Ghana’s key national priorities through a single integrated investment, including climate adaptation, combating desertification, strengthening food security, creating employment opportunities for youth, empowering women economically, developing carbon markets, and stimulating rural economic growth.

The positive reception from Parliament marks an important milestone for the project as the Ghana Climate Centre of Excellence advances its vision of building a greener, more resilient, and more prosperous Ghana.
