Climate Watch Africa Takes the Lead in Climate Awareness

 

Climate Watch Africa has taken a significant step towards promoting informed climate dialogue and driving meaningful action in Ghana by launching a new initiative aimed at enhancing climate reporting and awareness across the country.

As part of this initiative, the organization recently held a capacity-building workshop for journalists, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to produce compelling stories on Ghana’s climate challenges and opportunities.

The workshop, according to Ishmael Barfi, Executive Coordinator of Climate Watch Africa, was designed to empower journalists to share stories from communities on the frontline of climate change, make climate science accessible to all Ghanaians, and scrutinize national climate policies and actions.

He explained that, the organization aims to promote a deeper understanding of climate issues and their impacts on local communities.

During the workshop held in Accra with the theme: Reporting for a Cleaner & Green Ghana unveiled its online portal www.climatewatchonline.com and its newspaper Climate Watch.

The new platform launched by Climate Watch Africa will highlight innovative and effective approaches to addressing climate change in Ghana, provide in-depth analysis and commentary from experts on climate policy and its impact on the environment as well as sshe inspiring stories of communities and individuals adapting to the impacts of climate change.

The Executive Coordinator expressed his appreciation to partners, including Landfills2Landmarks, and other contributors who have supported the initiative.

He further encouraged journalists, policymakers, and the public to join its mission of promoting informed climate dialogue and driving meaningful action toward a sustainable future.

Climate Watch Africa is calling on all stakeholders to support its mission to promote climate awareness and action in Ghana. By working together, we can build a more climate-resilient future for all Ghanaians.
